What is the status of these other 15N-15W Chesapeake wells:
234371, 235919, 236242, 237022, 236439?
Drilling update--the Chesapeake well, Nelson 18-H-1 has began drilling activities. I will probably be getting more information from the attorneys that handled the meeting with the State that was scheduled for today in Baton Rouge. I suppose I'll get a buy in offer and what else I don't yet know.
Nelson 18-H-1 started drilling about 10 days ago and has been vibrating the ground 24-7 since then. I took some photos of the rig yesterday as seen from the back of my property. See photos posted: Nelson 18 - View 1 and Nelson 18 View 2
Hi LP, thanks for the photos. I can see the crown of the rig across the trees but can't see the derrick, floor or substructure. I knew that there had been noise and activity since last Tuesday but it got a little noiser last night, I don't know if they were tripping the bit or what but it's back to lower volume normal sounds today.
Do you know of anyone close in Sect. 18 that has leased in the past couple of months or was most of the section already under previous lease? Is there a group that you know of that is working together close around us?
Hi Rick,
I'm not sure but I think the majority of section 18 belongs to the Nelson family and has been leased for some time. Section 19 is in negotiations currently and most of the property owners are united in this effort. There is a meeting scheduled Monday evening at 7:00 PM at the Stonewall Fire Station. If you are in Section 19, you should have been contacted by someone in the group. If you have not, bring a copy of your deed and come to the meeting. It's an important one. Can't give details. Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
