Indigo Minerals LLC just sent me pre-application notices on 3 Cotton Valley units they're forming in T15N 14W sec 8,17,19. Is there some horizontal cotton valley potential here? Indigo looks to have some good production from the cotton valley in the past few months.

Before you go further, you might want to check the land title.

Permalink Reply by Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant on November 29, 2012 at 4:14 There is no well or permit by Indigo for a CV well in that section at this time.

The horizontal Cotton Valley wells by Indigo and now some by Chesapeake in S Caddo and N DeSoto are not, strictly speaking, "oil" wells. They are tapping a previously undeveloped CV sand member that has a high liquid content. Some of that liquid may be oil but most is condensate and NGLs (Natural Gas Liquids) although the majority of the production is still natural gas. There is interest and leasing across much of NW LA for well know formations that can have areas of high liquid production.

Unit orders are good indefinitely until dissolved by a subsequent application and order.

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
