Indigo Minerals LLC just sent me pre-application notices on 3 Cotton Valley units they're forming in T15N 14W sec 8,17,19. Is there some horizontal cotton valley potential here? Indigo looks to have some good production from the cotton valley in the past few months.

T15 refers to Township 15. LA uses section-township-range. TX uses surveys. Ask your question regarding loss of surface to back taxes and how that may or may not affect your mineral ownership here:

What information do I need? Just the survey and my grandfathers name? I assume I can call the county court house?

There is no well or permit by Indigo for a CV well in that section at this time.
Any CV wells for oil? The horizontal Cotton Valley wells by Indigo and now some by Chesapeake in S Caddo and N DeSoto are not, strictly speaking, "oil" wells. A unit order generally indicates an operator's intention to drill a unit well however the order does not require that a well be drilled in any specific time frame. Unit orders are good indefinitely until dissolved by a subsequent application and order.

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
