This could be a very hot conversation, but I think it needs to happen. Here is the first study on fracking and property values. We will see more studies like this one and likely lawsuits too. Here is a study by Duke and done in Pennsylvania. Each of you should read it as this is something we must all deal with.
What do our neighbors think about our natgas wells? Do we care what they think? We may have to because they can vote and hire lawyers and lobby elected officials - and, there are many more of them than there are of us. I could see fears of groundwater or whatever making neighbors scared as hell of natgas wells.
I don't want my neighbors scared of anything on my property. I value good neighbors and depend on mine. You probably are the same way. We need a lot more education because so many of the fears about fracking are overblown but have been poorly refuted. Thirty second ads on CNN do not do enough. That is why I have devoted so much of my attention to new technologies that make the process safer and more efficient.

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
