That unit is about 680 acres or so, with 28 tracts of varying sizes, from as little as 0.23 acres to over 174 acres (owned by the US of A).  How many mineral acres does your family hold in the unit?

I wonder what the fed gov got for our 174 acres? Bet puddiney got a better deal.

Why would you think race played a part in the deal you made with XTO?

One more comment - I'm pretty sure that well and completion cost well in excess of $10 million - I doubt anyone has seen payout who went unleased.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
