Natural Gas Spot Price
2/25 = 3.42
3/19 = 3.96
Roughly up 15% - definitely a correlation, those that are more familiar with SWN's futures contracts and trading practices can probably give more insight, but higher gas = higher value in this gas-heavy company.
Of course, there is probably some value in their JV, the possibility of payout on risky future ventures (i.e. BD), but mostly it is Fayetteville and Macellus becoming worth more in a better price environment.
Settlement prices are more important to the sellers of natural gas than the spot prices.
I heard the JV was a foreign company.....? If so I wonder who it could be?
The only SWN Hollis well of which I am aware is the L SMK RA SUA; HOLLIS 27-22-3H #1. If that's the well to which you are referring, the permit to drill expires in ten days.
Heard rumor today that leasing has started back up in Morehouse parish. Don't know if it's for the BD but I do know it's a lot of land.
That's interesting. I thought the couple tried over that way were "sure 'nuff dusters". We'll have to see what comes of it...
what is the name of the Company involved?

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
