We got a zone lease in the AC and a premium to go to the TMS. I don't see the deeper TMS as a show stopper. There may be a much bigger payoff down there. We have yet to see it explored.

Just an observation: I think Halcon and EOG would be very interested in acquiring these leases. Especially, EOG. We'll have to wait and see.

As you clearly pointed out Anadarko was chasing an Austin Chalk play. As such, most of their leased area is so far south that the TMS in their leased area is very deep. From my review of their leased area, it appears to me that probably the only acreage where their TMS prospectivity would be of much current interest is their northern acreage position in Avoyelles and some other northern area acreage which is a relatively small amount of acreage as a percentage of their total package for sale.

All of that being said, I believe Halcon and EOG might possibly be interested in Cherry Picking out that northern acreage, assuming Anadarko would be willing to sever it out of the entire package.

However, in my opinion, a TMS Operator would have little interest in the prospectivity of the bulk of Anadarko’s acreage at this time because it is so deep in their leased position. 

Once again, to reinforce what you clearly pointed out, Anadarko’s decision to sell its Austin Chalk acreage has little, if any bearing on the economic prospectivity and commercialization of the TMS.  Anadarko, is just trying to put some lipstick and makeup on a unsuccessful Austin Chalk play by claiming TMS prospectivity over their entire lease area.

A person’s reliance on Anadarko’s decision to sell its acreage as a “barometer” of where the TMS play is currently at, is simply and clearly misguided in my opinion.

APC may merely be shedding some excess baggage that doesn't play so well in order to concentrate on the chalk and the TMS in Vernon Parish and adjacent parishes. Earlier well logs have shown a prospective area in the vicinity of  Fort Polk, and of course the TMS appears more cooperative there due to a more brittle formation that fractures better and is lacking the clay and water evidenced in the acreage the company wants to dump. Frankly, the folks who jumped on the eastern TMS started at the wrong end of the state. Just my take on this sensitive topic.

However, we want to clarify that the Anadarko leasehold project is being offered through a "sealed bid" process, with written bids due on May 21, 2013.

I don't agree. They came in with a shale drilling model and the AC is not shale. They screwed the play and the trend up and now they are moving on. The difference between the Vernon Parish and the Avoyelles drilling is one is gas driven and the other is oil. Gas can migrate to the well bore through their mistakes and the oil cannot.
