Totally agree with you Skip. There are a lot of other issues in Marcellus, including unions. If you like the car industry, you'll love the drilling industry with a UAW-type mob attacking it.

A common thread I hope goes away: finding experienced rig hands who can pass a drug test. For a while we were running off more than we were keeping up in N La and the rural Pa. area isn't much better. Even when we announced there would be a drug test the next week, we got failures! Some folks just weren't bred to make a living!
Mmmarkkk. I wish the HS had come along when I was a young man looking for a career opportunity. The industry needs good workers and I hope locals land many of those jobs at all levels. The play is in its infancy. There will be great job opportunities for years to come. It is an odd and fortunate fact of NW. LA. history that the two greatest booms came at times when we most needed their economic stimulus to shield us from the national and global depressions. Many have wished aloud for a local economy that allowed their children and grandchildren to find a meaningful career and build their lives here. Not have to move far away to find meaningful employment. We sometimes get caught up in the negatives and the personal disagreements here in our alternate world that Haynesville has created. I think it would make us all feel better to voice our gratitude and admit our great fortune.

I do think most of their activity will be outside of the US unless they acquire one of the independent O&G companies with a significant shale gas acreage position.
