Francis, I haven't deleted any posts.  You may need to go to the site archive to find what you are looking for.  Let me know if you need any help.  I think the LSBD has potential as a wet gas play.  For that reason I lean to WLL as that seems to be their interpretation.  I haven't made any posts about operators clearing out.  SWN has found a pressure fairway that appears to have the potential to be commercial.  They are now in the process of HBPing that area and stepping out in search of the areal extent.  I agree with others who have posted that SWN has proven that the Brown Dense is not the unconventional reservoir hoped for and certainly nothing like the Haynesville Shale Basin in area.  If SWN can prove up the two to three township area where they have concentrated for the last year it will help their product mix and their bottom line.

my query, below, is posed/asked in true and pure, abject ignorance:

how does one go about deleting posts after the 15 minute period for editation?

i ask this because there are some of my less considered posts that i'd like to see "disappeared".

Skip, I had problems finding your May-November 2013 posts. I have no idea if they were deleted or I am much older and more senile than I had imagined myself. I remember the general feeling most had after the Jackson issues and SWN going vertical and I know the tenor was negative with many knowledgeable people. I heard that from people in the business I had the opportunity to question, not just you. Thanks for responding. I swear I thought you predicted a pull out if things did not change.

Francis, discussions move off the main group page if they cease to get replies however you can still access them by going to the bottom of the group page and clicking on, VIEW ALL.  It's in blue.  This will allow you to look back through all the discussions in the archive.  Only two people could delete my posts, Keith or myself.  I assure you I haven't deleted them.  And I feel sure Keith has not.

IMO SWN's decision to drill vertical wells was driven by time and money....and their ability to get the Office of Conservation to approve 1280 acre drilling units.  With a lot of leases approaching their expiration date this year SWN had to drill 'em, loose 'em or spend money to exercise extension options.  Actually there is another option which has been reported and that was to let the leases expire and then come back with a new offer to lease.  The replies posted to the site regarding that option stated that the new offers were less than the original offer.  The wells SWN has permitted and the new units that they have applied to form indicate the area that they think may be economic  That area is the pressure fairway in Union Parish.  Once they have drilled and HBP'ed as much of that land as possible with the time remaining I think they will come back and test some horizontal completions.  If they can figure out the means to drill economic horizontal wells and the area turns out to be 2 to 4 townships (46,000 to 92,000 acres) or more then they could end up making a profit in the long rum.

Patterson reports the Whiting Langford 4 H as drilling ahead at 16044 feet as of 2/28/14.

They seem to be only about 1500 feet short of their projected total depth.

Whiting has not fracked the well yet. No activity in almost a month.

This probably has nothing to do with the Brown Dense Lower Smackover, but Whiting's stock is up over 25% in the last month.  FYI.  $56.00 to $71.27
