James, it is a good idea when asking location specific questions to post in the appropriate group.  In your case that would be the Shelby County Group page.  When you post your discussion there all the members of the group get an email alerting them to the new discussion.  When you post on the Main Page there is no alert.  The members that probably have information of value to you would have to log on and look down the list of discussions to notice yours.  Sometimes that doesn't happen before discussions rotates off the Main Page.  There are knowledgeable Shelby Group members that may be of help.  I suggest that you join the Shelby County Group, post your question there and read through the other Shelby County discussion threads that you will find there.  Good Luck.  Link to Shelby County Group follows:

James,

Your well location is on Forest Service Road 126. Take Hwy 87 south from Shelbyville, turn left (east) on FM 2625. That will run into FM 2427. Keep going southeasterly and that will turn into FM 2799. The road will make a short curve left and FSR 126 will be immediately ahead. It crosses the FM & you need to turn left (north). You should see a Unit sign pretty quick... maybe 1/2 mile. RRC map attached but you should probably look at a good road map before you go out there... just in case. Your wells are numbers 30929 & 30932 on the map.

Say, I started wondering about something.  You seemed to have quick knowledge of the Brittain well locations...do you have an interest in these wells?  The reason that I ask is that, since I inherited my interest from a great, great, great grandmother (whom, I'm told owned the property) perhaps we're related somehow down the food chain.  If you think that's a possibility and would like to share notes on our common ancestry, let me know and I'll send my direct email.  Again, thanks for the well location.  Based on your directions, I've already found the wells on Google Earth.

No, I don't have an interest in the wells. I'm just pretty good at looking stuff up on RRC and I try to help people find what they're looking for. If you will do what Skip suggested, that you should post a discussion in the Shelby County group, you might be able to scare up a relation or two. I know of a few people in that group and San Augustine group who have found long lost cousins by posting about the common ancestor.
