What company and what is your range? That sounds like a good deal to me fir your area.
Glad to hear someone is interested in Jackson Parish. There hasn't been any activity up there in a long time.
Considering your location, i would guess wildhorse (MRD).
Received two offers this week, the first for $500 an acre and 1/4 royalty. Then received a second call from a different company for $600 an acre and 1/4 royalty. Is there something finally happening in Jackson? Land is in 17N, 2W, Section 18. Also, the second company said they had a drill and was ready to start as soon as the leases were signed. Not sure if that was just pressure to sign quickly or the truth.
I was in Jonesboro last Friday and the folks in the clerks office told me that there was activity in Township 17 North. I wasn't doing Oil & Gas work, just a title issue and haven't worked Jackson Parish in a long time. Maybe something is going on up there and I hope that it pans out to be a big one.
Would you know if they are planning horizontal wells in the LCV ? Don't believe Anadarko or Exco ever drilled any horizontal wells in the Vernon Field?
I did give a look at the day book and saw where Clarke oil or something were the last to record leases. I was there on Friday and that is not a good day, along with Mondays to judge how many landmen are in the courthouse. I will be up there probably next week to finish what I was doing and may have time to check into things a little more. I don't have enough info to make a call on what they are looking for or how they would try to drill it.
Exco drilled one horizontal

JWatson,
What are the names of the companies trying to lease your land?
Kare-Sue Energy, Inc and LOUTEX-SOVEREIGN LLC are the two landmen who are making offers. Any experience with them?
Not I. Here's their LA SOS corporate registration certificates. Kare-Sue appears to be a common LA land company. They have bid on state mineral auction tracts on behalf of clients in the past. Loutex doesn't appear to be a land company. They could be leasing for a client or may be speculating in leases. No way to tell at this point in time.

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
