Looks like Chesapeake is gonna drill 2 CUL's from a pad in 15n 14w sec 30. One going north into sec 19 and one south into sec 32. Could one assume 15n 14w sections 19, 30, 31 are tier 1 or tier 2 rock? Thanks.

Thanks in advance,

Permalink Reply by Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant on February 5, 2015 at 12:20 Maybe high T-2, Carter. Before we go too far with the "rule of thumb" EUR estimates let me say that all areas should have somewhat higher EURs with CUL wells compared to the original unit wells owing to the extra rock that is stimulated. All of the original 640 acre units contain 80 acres that was not fractured due to setback requirements. A section with a good Tier 2 unit well could very well have new design CUL alternate unit wells that are Tier 1. So far the increase in production per acre is difficult to quantify - insufficient data. However all the HA operators are willing to drill these new design wells at these relatively low prices because they are more cost efficient - less cost to produce an mcf.

Permalink Reply by kittycatmama on February 5, 2015 at 13:19 @ Ronnie, gosh we do too. Just acquire a few more minerals in Keatchie area with CHK and hoping they go west from this location to that area

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
