EOG has filed for there first new drill in Houston County. Jim Bowie 1H. A wildcat well at 10,500 feet. It's 6.4 miles southeast of Crockett. Looks to be off of Cut Post Oak rd in between Crockett and Lovelady.

Sorry to hear of the death of landman Bill Adams who worked leases for EOG for most of Houston County for the last year. He was one of the most honest guys I have worked with. He was great at remembering names and acreage, family names, etc. He was only 44 and from Troup, Tx. Cancer is evil.

Sad to hear that about Mr. Adams.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
