I appreciate being able to access the valuable/resourceful information on this site when I'm in doubt . So I would like to give back by sharing some assistance with Navigating the Texas Railroad Commission Site.
Here is a Website for the Texas Railroad Commission
You may have to type this site in your browser and save it in your favorites or desk top
http://www.rrc.state.tx.us/forms/maps/ogdivisionmap.php
I would like to share these simple steps in navigating through the site
Here is an explanation of the abbreviations I used
L=Left
R=Right
After entering the site
Move your mouse over to Data and Statistics on your (L)
A drop box opens on your (R)
Click on the Online Research (Query)
Or
Click on the Open Records
The Online Research (Query) -Gives detailed information and location coordinates for oil wells, gas wells, and pipelines. Click on the Public GIS Map Viewer for Oil, Gas and Pipeline Data.
Then click on the RRC’s Public GIS Map Viewer it will give you a map and scroll down on the(R) and select the county and the wellbore information is helpful but not needed.
The Open Records- Allow you to search for Oil and Gas Well Records it can be searched by key fields or full text and include applications to drill, oil and gas completion reports, plugging reports, producer's transportation authority and miscellaneous records from 1981 to present.
For Oil and Gas record search –Be sure to use the Full Text and Enter your Last Name and Click Submit
This is an excellent resource once you able to navigate it. I hope this is useful for others as it has been for me.
