Production Numbers in SONRIS vs. Vouchers

I have been checking production values on my vouchers vs. those in SONRIS and there are differences. For example, I have interest in 4 wells in the same unit. Each month, SONRIS shows the same production number for each well while the voucher shows that number split among the wells. In another case, 2 wells in the same unit show the same number and production is again split on the vouchers. I assume the production is gaged for the combination of wells going into the pipeline and the voucher figures are based on lateral lengths or some other data. But shouldn't the production for each well be accurately reported in SONRIS?

When wells are unitized, the monthly production volume on SONRIS is the cumulative total for all the wells.  There are only two instances when the reported production is for an individual well.  When there is only the original unit well producing or the well is a Cross Unit Alternate Unit Well denoted "HC".  That case requires a separate SONRIS search.  In the SONRIS Data Portal go to the Production Audit section.  The first search option will be "Cross Unit Well Production by Well".  You only need the well serial number and the production dates.  Leave the rest of the search form blank.  You may have to work with the beginning and ending dates to get the hang of it.  Hopefully this link will work, if so bookmark it.

Thanks, that helps explain. However, I have noticed in some cases, the numbers on the vouchers have not matched the Sonris number when I add them up . I will contact the producer for an explanation.

The numbers on your vouchers are not supposed to match what is on SONRIS although they should be close.  The reason for this is that Louisiana requires volumes to be reported at a standard temperature and pressure.  That is what you see on SONRIS.  Individual companies report volumes and calculate royalty on their own selected temps and pressures.  For example, Chesapeake uses the Oklahoma standard regardless of the state where the natural gas was produced.

I am aware of some of the corrections for temperature and pressure, but these differences are much larger than can be explained by that.
