Start in Greenwood, Louisiana on Hwy 169 and head south. You will see your first well being drilled just a few miles out .
Drive all the way on 169 straight into Logansport, Louisiana . You will see drilling rigs, pipelines being laid, wells already drilled, Pads being built, stations in process, wells being fracked, O&G trucks running everywhere.
Drive with caution
At Four Forks into Logansport, the road is called the Marshall Hwy.

The Shale is alive and well in this area.

SB,
Is the well in Greenwood north of I-20?
James,
No, it is headed south. ( 169 south starts on Hwy 80 in Downtown Greenwood )
The first well you will see will be on the right just past where Shirley Frances Road intersects.
I think it is in Sec. 2 T16N R16W ( the Dunn property I believe )

This is a nice drive to make it you want to see LOTS and LOTS of Activity.
You can see about 10 - 15 well from the Hwy.
Thanks, SB. I'm sure it's already posted here somewhere, but do you (or anybody) have some specific well ser. #'s or operators? ( I'm short on research time here, but also think it might help to repost the info with this discussion.) Also, how did things ever turn out for all those people who were on the news not to long ago re. their payments/leases?

Have a great day - sesport
Sesport,
Sorry, I do not have any of that info. There are wells from every company as far as I could tell.
We were just taking a drive in the country yesterday .

For those that think there is not much going on, they just need to take this drive
It was like an ant hill you had stirred with a stick... and that was on Sunday.
You will see some kind of O&G activity every mile or so.
That's okay, SB, perhaps someone else will be so kind as to provide the info here.

BTW, love the analogy ... "an ant hill you had stirred with a stick ..." LOL

Best to you, sesport
SueBaby, if you are interested check the following two forums for current Haynesville Shale drilling activity in Caddo & De Soto Parish:

Thanks Les B...

This is a great drive to see all the activity up close.... and get a birds eye view of the impact this Shale is having on our Land.
These Rigs sites are so close to the road - You could throw the Stick you stirred the ant hill with and hit one of them. ( that's for You Seaport ) LOL
I drive this road (Hwy 169 out of Logansport) twice a day -to and from work. Indeed, there is a tremendous amount of drilling going on in this area. However, the conclusion that all these wells are "haynesvilles' may not be entirely correct. A lot of these wells just out of Logansport are VERTICAL wells, not horizontals. One such well just completed went down a little over 8,000 ft. Check the permits and scout reports on SONRIS and you will see what I am talking about.
Thanks, lanadan, that's part of what we're trying to discern here, I think. Personally, I'd like to take the drive out there just to "lookey-loo," I guess. Kinda like one of those tours out in L.A. where you go see all the homes of the stars. LOL

Have a great day - sesport
Hi, Jay ... that is you, isn't it. If so, good to see you, you're input has been sorely missed. I prefer things to be well ( I guess that's a pun, isn't it? ) balanced.

Sincerely - sesport
All - I guess I should not have said Haynesville Shale . I have no idea what they are drilling for, how deep, or anything. I just wanted to mention the area for being a great way to see all the activity.

( so.... if Landman says nothing going on - go take a" Lookie -Loo"
at the" Ant hill " )

We were just out riding our bikes for the day.....

Do ya'll think I should change the heading ??? to say Drilling/ Pipeline activity ???

New activity all in this area
