Ok, I have another question....What does "building curve-sliding" mean? That was on today's update on Sonris.

Right, Electro. And many of the SONRIS well profiles will reference "milling a window in the casing" in order to go horizontal. It ain't a 90 degree turn. I have never computed the arc of the curve but those who wish to can get the details they need on SONRIS.

I believe the arc of the curve is approximately 250 feet.

Electro. I find completion profiles to be of interest. One of the questions I have never asked on the site is how far from the borehole do the fractures in the formation extend and in what pattern? Of course that depends on numerous factors. Location and orientation of perforations, frac fluid design and pressure, stimulation zone length, etc. It would be of interest to have some of the site experts discuss how the more capable operators design a completion profile.

Thanks, Electro. If you think he might consider it, invite him to come back and test the waters. I think he would find more than you, me and Checkmateking interested in having discussions on the topic. And land/mineral owners in north Caddo and other edges of the play, as currently defined, should find of interest how variations in completion profiles can address variations in the petrophysical characteristics of the HS throughout the area of the play. The best wells will not be produced from a single completion profile play-wide. Operators will have to learn how to vary the profile to match the variations in the formation by locale. And the successful operators will be those that can figure out how to best employ those variations in completion designs.

Skip, I think that might be proprietory info. I believe the O/G co. hires a drilling company to drill it but the company decides on the curve and attitude of the wellbore.

Sandstone, yeah the specifics would likely be proprietary. I am looking for generalities if we can get 'em. About a week ago, a new member mentioned that CHK had gone to x-linked bauxite fracture stimulations. If I remember correctly. Of course then he/she disappeared. Probably one of those oops moments.

Yes, that was probably an oops moment because they sign an agreement not to release any of the specifics. You might have better luck getting information on the Barnett but then that really wouldn't tell you what was happening here.
