RAY. That may be the case. But these units are not only on the northern edge of the play but the far northeast edge also. Quite far from the disappointing northern wells in 19N - 16W, 15W & 14W. Even further east than the not-so-great Chesapeake Prescott Family well in 19N -13W. This is virgin territory. And just far enough from the northern wells completed to date, that there may be differences in the petrophysical characteristics of the shale. I don't base my optimism on Diamond Oil. If we were to do the research, I bet we would find that this is their only leasehold prospective for the shale. But Petrohawk, ah, that's a different story. They are the real McCoy. That doesn't mean that the northeast will be better than the north but until the first wells come in, it will make it interesting for land/mineral owners in those townships. Cross you fingers.

Agreed, BirdDawg. We could use some step out drilling to talk about. I'm surprised as I didn't expect this kind of activity on the "edge" with the current economics.

The HA zone is around 3000 ft shallower up there. Is this because of a salt dome or what? How much cheaper will it be to drill compared to normal depth of the play?

Both wells drilled by diamond have over three hundred feet of shale. The well in 20n has three hundred eighty

The wells in north Caddo also had 300' of shale. Thickness is obviously not the main determining factor in making a successful HA well.

Thickness has nothing to do with productivity. its all about porosity.
