exactly, but I would guess we won't see many alternates when the pressure to hold units drives development for sections w/o any well to hold it.

you're right, some companies don't have as many acres to hold.

And quite a few companies do not have to drill any wells to hold their acreage as it is already HBP by shallower production. They will take their time and invest in development when the ROI looks better as to supply/demand. There will be HA horizontal wells still being drilled 30 or more years from now.

Purely by coincidence, I thought I'd found another counterexample. 3 lit up drilling rigs right next to each other at Frierson. However, it turned out to be a drilling company that apparently set up some of their idle rigs on display in their storage yard.

Mac,

It is neat to see the three rigs up, all beside one another with their flags flying. The company is Trinidad. I don't know much about them but I think Chesapeake uses their rigs. I'm not sure if their rigs are fabricated there at that location or if the rigs are just assembled there. I'm sure someone else on this website knows more than me.

There is another oil and gas well related service company right beside Trinidad.
