I agree. Economics don't make much sense these days. Will be a lot more fun when prices get above $6!! Heck, I'll settle for above $5
Its called the science of HBP.
WR, thanks for the change to a more upbeat title for the discussion.
I DID NOT CHANGE IT! I wish I could find out who did. The items in my post under my name are either facts from public record or are my opinion. The current title is NOT mine and I resent whoever changed it. How would you feel if I went in and changed some of your posts.

When I have time, I will post more about why I think the Nabors Logan 34 is both "More" -meaning there is previous bad news and is, in fact, "Bad News."
WR, sorry I just assumed you made the change.
Hi Les,

I just changed it again. Now perhaps we can have a discussion. More from me when I return this afternoon.
Not I said the fly

I don't have any special abilities, maybe I should feel slighted. LOL
Wasn't the Murry well located in Pleasant Hill a very good vertical and could have been better if they wouldn't have had problems with tubing in the hole? Also heard the Olympia Minerals was a good well which is south of both Murry and Nabors Logan 34. Heard Olympia was also a good well but had problems and had to be shut in with word being it will be re drilled at some point.
olddog. SWEPI reported numerous mechanical problems with their early HA wells. Some see those reports as a ruse to obscure the prospective nature of SWEPI's leasehold. IMO, the reports were accurate and give some indications that the challenges are significant in the southern reaches of the Play and SWEPI lacked sufficient horizontal drilling and completion experience. If the rumors of Encana taking over development management from SWEPI are true, that could very well be a good turn of events.
Murray 31 produced a great big 17.9 mmcf for the MONTH of May.

Olympia 26 is "Prepped to Plug," and has been in that status since October 9, 2008. Perhaps SWEP has forgotten about it.

Nabors Logan 27 was a blowout during completion.

Nabors Logan 34 (see above).

Labokay 27 never spud and permit expires July 23.

SWEP hasn't pulled a permit in Sabine since December 2007.

Since January 1, 2009, there have been 14 permits in Sabine AND only one well spudded(Nabors Logan 27, which blew out). Eight of the 14 permits are held by Ellora. No wells spudded by Ellora and seven of the eight permits expire in October 2009 and the other one in November 2009. Anybody want to bet on Ellora getting seven rigs in there by October! Technically, Ellora would only need four rigs since the eight permits are in only four sections--please explain. Sounded like a stock hype from day one!
Thank you for your explanation. Your (original) title make a lot more sense now. Hopefully they can get Sabine figured out and have some success there. Or another company attempts to develop the acreage, as Skip mentioned above.

Is Ellora drilling elsewhere in the Shale? Are they drilling and completing successfully in more 'proven" areas?

Hopefully it is incompetence on behalf of Ellora vs. a geological issue.

WR, I will stand by my original comment that the Nabors Logan 34 #1 test results are good news.

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…
