Les, where is the A.V. Young #7 well? Which State's Hall of Fame gets to claim this one?

El Paso's latest Haynesville well posts 25 MMcfe/d initial production rate

El Paso Corp.'s latest well in the Haynesville Shale had an initial production flow rate of 25 MMcfe/d, the highest IP rate of El Paso's 10 producing wells in the play, company officials said Aug. 12 at the UBS Houston Energy Bus Tour.

The A.V. Young #7H well was drilled and completed at a cost of approximately $7.5 million. With the new well, El Paso's total net production from its 10 Haynesville Shale wells is approximately 49 MMcfe/d, the company said. Jim Yardley, chairman of El Paso's pipeline group, and Brent Smolik, president of El Paso's exploration and production company, gave presentations at the UBS event.

In the Haynesville, El Paso has a net unrisked resource of 800 Bcfe to 950 Bcfe and a net risked resource of 750 Bcfe to 900 Bcfe. The company has 40,000 net acres in the Haynesville Shale play in Louisiana and Texas and 30,000 net acres in Louisiana.

Les B is not available to take your call right now, but the A V Young #7H (SN 239785) was drilled right here in the great state of Louisiana (7-13N-14W) in Bethany Longstreet Field, Desoto Parish.

Texas is going to have a wait a bit longer for another double-digit mmcfd IP producer.
Thanks Dion - I have added to the list.
