I ain't got one cent, but I heard that a well that was potentialed at 14,000,000 mcf paid about $600.00 per acre for the first month with 25% royalty. After about four months it has declined to about $300.00 per acre per momth.
I heard it through the grapevine and it may not be accurate. Any one else hear anything?
Danny:

At somewhere around $4.50 - $5.00/mcf with minimal deducts, seems about right.
Danny,
14 million /thousand cubic feet a day would be a whale of a well.
Maybe you meant 14,000 mcfd, or 14 mmcfd.
Thanks bird dawg it should have been 14,000 MCFD.
Thank you.
Makes sense to me- that's why I'm reading this discussion. I'm not leased yet, still not sure on the current low prices...but I'd sure like to see what I might be missing if I choose not to take a low offer.
thanks for the explanation. if you want information of this nature pehaps you should send friend requests to those royalty owners that you are intrested in rather than putting out a broadcast. i am generally not a shy person, but i am uncomfortable discussing personal financel information in a public forum. just seems more prudent to discuss in private email rather than the main page on a busy website.
my two cents !!!

I for one think what they are not telling you is that most have gotten nothing at this point because there are still not a whole lot of real figures out there at this time. Lots of speculation but not much real thing. Lots of paper work must take place after the well is drilled before anyone gets anything. In good times I think this does not take longer than maybe 3 months but when you are drilling 2 or 3 townships at one time, I think it could take a very long time. Just my two cents.
Foxiecajun has hit this dead center. It's the most logical explaination - few people have actually gotten royalties because there is not much history of payments from this yet.

It's not a conspiracy so much as just newness and not all that many wells drilled and people here reporting their wealth.

Also, it's human nature that message boards attract people in the heat of the season - and activity usually drops off once a person leases. After all, there is not much you can go except wait.

Smart people use downtimes like these to study and be ready for the next time. The market will rise and then fallagain .....

May I suggest checking out the live concerts online free from the King Biscuit Flower Hour?

They have hundreds of concerts online - right now I am listening to a Johnny Winter show from the 1970's. It's a damn fine way to learn about the Shale! Johnny plays a near perfect combo of rock 'n roll and blues. He plays with Muddy Waters in one show.
