Mrs. S. Do you know the location of your minerals by section-township-range? It is helpful to have a somewhat specific location? Hwy. 783 and Hwy. 71 is a little far from Hall Summit to be specific. In general this is a highly perspective area. I don't think you will be overlooked.
Thank you for responding to me Skip Peel. My section -Township-rang is T13N-R10W-SEC 36. I hope myself and the others who live next to me with land that has not been leased do not be overlooked.
Mrs. Sunshine. Section 36 is under HA unit order to Chesapeake. Chesapeake has not permitted a well for your section at this time. Section 36 currently has no producing wells. Chesapeake will be compelled to drill a well to hold it's leases in the section and will likely choose to wait until natural gas prices are improved or the initial lease terms are near expiration. Chesapeake probably holds leases for a majority of the acres in your section and will be more aggressive in tendering lease offers in the near future. In most cases I council my clients to refrain from contacting the operator and decline to enter serious lease negotiation until a well is drilling. Before Chesapeake turns the initial well to sales, they will make an effort to have every single acre under lease if possible.
Thank you so much for the info. Will they contact me by phone or will someone come to my residence to discuss the leasing with me? Also, there was a helicopter flying over yesterday dropping something in a sack in the wooded areas near my home, can anyone shed some light on this?
Most likely a landman will come see you in person as he/she will have a lease which it is their intention to convince you to sign. The helicopter with the sack sounds like a seismic shoot.
Skip: Veritas is shooting in that area.
Thanks for the confirmation, Buddy.
