Fox interview.

Oh, and I just realized I know these people...went to school with the kids lol.

Kathy, the family owns 80 acres they purchased in 1997 for $160,000.

80 acres = billionaire, I'd say false advertising.

This Shreveport Times entertainment section link from today's paper tells the story:

"2 new CMT reality shows feature NW Louisiana residents"  can be found at this link:

I wonder how much of the show is going to be reality ?

So,  they have 80 acres and that was a $166,000 check??  Was that bonus money or could it be royalties?  Do they have more than one well??

Hey, it's all good!  Look here ...  "the Dowdens also feel the show re-energized Kitten’s father, “Grandpa” Jim Roy, who at age 90 and after a recent family tragedy had given up on life. “Grandpa” gets his own role as a ladies’ man.  “He was able to mark some things off his bucket list. This absolutely saved his life,” Kitten said."

Hopeful, there was no bonus money as the property was already held by production from older shallower wells.

a $166k royalty check, sweet :)

I would not have given this show a glance - but you guys have gotten me interested.

Hopeful, I only saw a check for $116k which may have been for more than one month.

Show the show last night, and it was a "hoot"......  very nice people just having fun, and enjoying their money.

i caught an interview with the parents, they seem like good people, and much more well spoken and humble than i was afraid would be the case.  good for them, the show's got to be paying pretty well to boot, i would think?

are the kids actually as trashy as they come off during the pre-show advertising?

I think they are just down to earth hard working folks who really know how to enjoy life.   Can't wait to see the next episode!
