A recent article published by the Star-Telegram included a statement that the Powell Barnett Shale Newsletter "believes Tarrant County is also the highest natural gas-producing county in the U.S. and has asked the U.S. Energy Information Administration for confirmation".  The article goes on to say Tarrant produced 55.3 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of gas in October.

With some research the Powell newsletter would learn that DeSoto Parish produced 69.0 Bcf in October or 25% more than Tarrant.

Yeah, good catch Les!
Finding that would have shown him that the Haynesville has eclipsed the Barnett... in 3 years time or less.  Head in sand preserves bragging rights, if only for a month or two.
well done sir!
Slap them around every chance you get.  Braggart Texans.

Les,

I was thinking that it would be useful to put your (factual) information in a comment about the article but I read some of the comments and most are attacking the environmental issue so maybe not a good idea to turn their attention our way.  They can keep thinking they're #1.

LP, I did provide the information to the Star-Telegram author.
Good. Did he reply?
LP, yes he did and thanked me for the information.
