Barnett Shale Publication Needs to Do Some Research (1/18/11)

A recent article published by the Star-Telegram included a statement that the Powell Barnett Shale Newsletter "believes Tarrant County is also the highest natural gas-producing county in the U.S. and has asked the U.S. Energy Information Administration for confirmation".  The article goes on to say Tarrant produced 55.3 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of gas in October.

With some research the Powell newsletter would learn that DeSoto Parish produced 69.0 Bcf in October or 25% more than Tarrant.

LP, I did provide the information to the Star-Telegram author.
Good. Did he reply?
LP, yes he did and thanked me for the information.
