Who would be the best oil company to deal with as pertains to honesty, fairness, and giving the most bang for our bucks?

TIA.

keep up the good work.

LN,

I sorta feel like apologizing to you for hijacking your good discussion topic with my question about "the CHK model".  Stirred up some excellent responses though and provided some contrast between good and bad operators.  Maybe we should start over with "the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" and get Clint Eastwood to moderate the discussion. Thanks and best of luck to you and yours.  Thanks everyone for comments on the CHK model.  Robert

With all that is bad about some land men, there are some very good ones. In fact one that I had dealt with prolior to the leasing frenzy, we were about to sell all of our property, with minerals. I happened to call my land man and he said absolutely not to sell. He couldn't tell me why but that I would regret it for the rest of my life. Needless to say, I am very great full to him. He has since went to work for an independent workin for Shell and I am forever in his debt! So to all you honest land men out there, here's to you!

That  my friend is luck. that is one out of about 10000.

I have nothing but good things to say about EXCO.  Ive had many dealings, with them, in various regards.  Cant say enough about them.  Honest, professional, effecient...

You did not deal with the people of exco that my wife did.. Honest professional efficient don't come within a million miles of them.

My philosophy:

If I have business dealings with one person that's a jerk, well he's probably just a jerk.  If I have busines dealings with two people who are jerks, then they are probably both jerks.  But if I have business dealings with three people who are jerks, maybe I'm the jerk!

SB, I understand what you're hinting at, and it's a cute parable, i.e., a sly way of jabbing at someone.

Sure.

But then again, if you were sitting on the witness stand in court (giving testimony vis-a-vis an insider-trading scam that had been manipulated by a network of O&G trading stockbrokers), a hard-of-hearing NY lawyer might think that your subconscious mind was attempting to tell the jury something.

In oter word give your hard earned land away for someon else to get rich off of. and believe the lies they tell you.

Yep, those Division Order clerks for all those companies  woke up simultaneously this morning and said to themselves in unison, " Lets try to steal some land from RAS"!

Gosh Darn, forgive me but I lost you at the "But then again".  I'm glad you think my philosophy is cute, but it is my way of saying that when I have one finger pointing at "you", I have three pointing back at myself!
