Wonder if they let him strike that warranty clause...

Chesapeake has filed suit against local businessman Robert N. Creamer for fraud and deception after he signed leases (and receive bonus consideration) from Basin Management Group and Twin Cities Development. Looks like $500K plus in 'extra bonus monies'...

Chesapeake is accusing Creamer of fraud and acting in bad faith...

Creamer, on the other hand, is accusing Chesapeake of being 'stupid'.

Jay,
I agree with you we do not need to stoop down to there level. Creamer knew that he leased his property twice. That makes him just as bad as Chesapeake. He will need to give the bonus back. Just my thoughts.
Well we all know it isn't ethical Jay, but sadly that will not decide the question.
Yeah, that's not even enough to really worry about anyway. If they got him leased then drill, baby, drill. LOL
Go on over to the discussion about Stonebridge; I posted links to the Complaint and the attached leases there.

Also, folks need to be careful about copying and pasting entire articles. It is a copyright violation to do so, especially like this article, which is available only by subscription. Here's an author that has written on copyright and internet usage on the topic:

Agreed. That is why I first posted the link only. Then, after request, only the first four paragraphs.

Fortunately the story is out in the public domain, and the facts are a matter of public record (literally, in the courthouse). I feel pretty safe in publishing the excerpt (cited prior to using) under fair use.
Doesn't that restriction apply to reproducing the article for some sort of profit motive?
I think the answer to the emailing a link is that you are directing the reader to the original source, thereby allowing the original author to be read at his or her source. I also think this is especially true in the case of copying the article from The Inquisitor, since they protect the content on their site by password to subscribers only.

Most of what I know about this subject I got from participation at the discussion boards at the Motley Fool website, that's where I got the link to the article about copyright and the internet. My posting of the court files is not at all a copyright issue, since they are public record.
I am with you Buck if they posted it then they wanted the whole world to see it.
Do ya'll remember that thread that I started, Can you trust a landman that doesn't wear socks? That guy was leasing for Basin Management. We knew that Creamer had already signed a lease through Arnie Castellano even then. Creamer thought he could get out of the lease with Arnie to accept $3,000 an acre more with Basin. We didn't think he could get out of the first lease but looks like he achieved more than he set out to do. I know that it was an unethical thing to do but I still love thinking that Chesapeake is getting a taste of their own medicine. Don't you just love KARMA????
Karma goes back to the mid 90s with me and CHK. I am sure that it goes back to the brokers that wanted to pay their landmen in a timely period. Some of the Lafayette brokers didn't give two hoops in hell when they paid you, others like Emile couldn't sleep at night because of it and would go to the bank and make a loan so that they could pay in a timely mannor. It was BS for sub contractors to have to wait 60 to 90 days to get paid. CHK deserves to get nailed, they need to go look in the mirror.
I think the chickens are coming home to roost and Chesapeake is the repository for the chicken's poop!! I jess luv it.
Cat they will turn that into money some way or another.
