Yes, Chesapeake resuming drilling some months ago.  If you're curious as to the progression, you can go back through my posts in the weekly rig report on the Main Page.  Currently, as of last Friday, CHK directed rigs were on well pads in 27-14N-12W (Mahoney 27-14-12 #3-Alt) and in 19-15N-14W (Kelly 8&17-15-14).  The company currently holds 11 live, un-spud permits to drill an is running a two rig drilling program.

There is a hearing on Oct. 13 to consider the request to approve the 4 CULs designated in the letter.  That approval will almost assuredly be granted.  At some point after that, CHK will see drilling permits for one or more wells.  No way of knowing if those permits move to the end of the list provided by Skip, or somewhere higher on the list.

It is relatively common for wells to be spud in a sequence other than that they are permitted in.  At this point the only take away from the permits posted is their term, either 6 months are 12.  That can be determined by clicking on the serial number in the SONRIS well file and opening the initial report which includes the permit, the plat and other forms.  I only reviewed the first and the last well permits on the list above and both were 12 month effective terms.  I suspect all those in between are also.  This tends to make me think that CHK will stick with a two rig development program for the foreseeable future.

I would think I would have seen on Sonris the permit for these wells.  Am I wrong on my assumption?  Thanks so much!

You can search for permits several ways.  By date or dates and by operator are the most commonly used.  A permit shows up first in the permits by date but is usually quickly included in the wells for a specific operator.  Try a search by operator for Chesapeake.  That is where I got the cut-and-paste list of wells above.

Thank you. I will give that a try

Well...fingers crossed! Lol

At this point Keith needs to give us some emojis.  Especially one with fingers crossed.
