Anyone local to the Avoyelles area hearing anything about the Eagles Ranch Well? It appears that they recently finished drilling well and should be moving frac crews on location soon.

Not all areas are the same - differences in drilling Haynesville vs AC in the formations, casing needs, pressure, and other hole conditions.
Bet they had the well shut in for a short period before turning it back on.
Was not aware that EOG was flaring the gas - $$$ going up in smoke!
Thanks for the field info!
Sonris has SWD permit by EOG on 7-10-2018....
Good news I suppose? North bayou jack field.
Anadarko did the same thing towards the end of the Dominque well. Don't know if that's good or bad?
Operator investing in a SWD well is a positive move IMO. If they were going to bail on an area, why spend another $1 million +/- to drill SWD?
Economics on this are pretty simple - trucking water will cost $1 to $3 per barrel. Plus tear up roads.
Having a gathering line to a SWD well will allow operator to dispose of water at 10% of that number - cents per BW.
Although I'm not at home during the day, The salt water trucks seem to be running 1 maybe 2-3 times a day instead of 2 or 3 at a time like earlier.
Question -
When comparing Austin Chalk wells in Louisiana vs. Texas - is salt water as big of a problem in Texas as it seems always to be in Louisiana???
How much salt water do the prominent EOG wells in Karnes County, TX produce? I'm guessing not nearly to the degree that Louisiana AC wells make water - is that correct?
Is that ultimately the reason why AC wells in Texas seem to work so well vs. Louisiana AC well attempts?
Water production is part of any unconventional horizontal stimulation play. This is the norm.
The question is "how much over time?" after the initial frac fluid related component is produced.
The Tx AC hz frac play wells (EOG in particular) have very high initial water cuts - but that makes sense since these wells pump thousands of gallons of water with their fracs. However, there is no good info on water production over time for these wells since it is not reported to the state. And I have found no periodic production tests indicating water cut.
We will see very high water cuts on Louisiana AC hz frac wells for the same reason - but until we can compare water numbers down the road between the two areas, it is impossible to answer this question.
Side note - the AC in Texas produced a LOT of water from the traditional naturally fractured reservoirs.
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
