What rates have been paid recently for pipeline easements or ROW purchase? My sister has been quoted a price per rod (16.5 feet I think).

All pipelines aren't the same. A small feeder line would be less per rod than a large transmission line.

William, if your question included enough information, I suspect you would have received more replies.  Pipeline rights-of-way are not created equal as Two Dogs points out.  There are often 2 rights of way, the wider one for construction purposes and the permanent one for the pipeline after construction is complete.  Then there is the question of what size (diameter) and number of lines that will exist in the pipeline after construction.  The best way to ensure that a land owner gets fair market compensation is to use the services of an experience O&G attorney.
