Frackers Fund University Research that Proves their side - Business Week

Gee, this is from Bloomberg Business Week.  Actually, common sense because lots of grant funded research is done to prove someone's point (or disprove)  Quite a long article with many comments.

PS: our current favorite article about groups manipulating science to prove their point is in many more newspapers today!  The contrast between these two articles is amazing.  Or, do they mostly agree???

The article indicating both sides mis-use science is more rational and spot on.  This article attempts to insinuate something sinister based on the funding source.  Government funded academics  disagree every day, Pharmaceutical studies are largely paid for by industry.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
