Where is Huffines?

Near the long bridge from Atlanta about 6 miles.

Tammy, the members of the Cass County Group will understand your location description.  Most of the rest of us (here on the Main Page) don't have a clue what bridge you are describing.  You need to post to the Cass County Group, not the Main Page.  Use the links (blue text below) I posted for you.

Atlanta is between Verda and Winnfield just a little to the northeast of Coochie Brake.

A mystical place where one of the oldest living things on the face of the Earth was airlifted out of there around the turn of the century (1900).

Mystical place?  Oldest living thing?  Airlifted.....in 1900?  Except for the airlifted part I'd guess you were referring to a Cypress tree.

They skidded it out by way of cables strung through the trees.

skidded = airlifted?  Isn't that a stretch?  LOL!  Where is Coochie Brake?  I'm betting it's not in Cass County, Texas.
