THE GHS HAYNESVILLE SHALE RIG TRACKER. 2023
I'll update each week so we can follow the rig count. I am only counting rigs drilling the Haynesville and Bossier formations. Many industry rig numbers are for the "Haynesville Area", however they may defined that, and includes wells drilling other formations.

* Note that Tellurian and Paloma have been joined by Ensight IV, Sponte and C6 as having no rigs drilling the Haynesville/Bossier shales.
Didn't Paloma recently announce a sale of their assets to another firm????
Still amazes me the number of rigs that Aethon is running in this trend. Their drilling department is a "machine"!
Paloma sold some assets, not Haynesville, and then turned around and acquired some assets the location of which escapes me at the moment. Paloma has nine live LA HA well permits to drill that are six month permits. They will all expire from 6/18 to 8/27. That's only an $11,376 investment lost and appears a good move considering that I doesn't look like a good time to be drilling new wells until late this year or early 2024.
The Paloma intel is good to know as the two most recent WI/RI wells (Robnsn 10&15-14-16 ALT's 1 & 2) I participated in just got fracked & as I told the PNG land manager I hope they keep them as DUC's until the price comes up a tad later this yr or in 2024.

The number of rigs drilling Haynesville/Bossier wells has dropped by one third.
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
