I have mineral rights in Nacogdoches, Texas that is located in the JM Mora Survey area, and I received a letter from a company requesting to buy my rights. I am wondering if I should or not but I do not know much about what is going on. Is there any activity in this area? Is there even a well that is digging and/or producing? Is there potential for money down the road on royalties, or is it best to sell? Is it gas or oil that is more of an interest there right now? Any help at all is greatly appreciated! Thank you.

reallyoldguy:Thanks for the clarification re the Atkinson and Sutton units.Huge would equate to great then! See, I am learning.Would they ever choke wells like this back for reserve if the price of NG falls bellow $4? If they did, then any royalty payment would reflect that action, correct? Though still, the gas would be in the ground at ready.I did by the way contact my landman and request a copy of the plat map.One more question, when they pool tracts of land together for drilling, is it usually in 640 acre plots? Any comment on how well the Chireno area is situated in regard to connecting gas lines for transmission? On the map it appears to be fairly welloriented to the main lines.
Ledlights, there is quite a lot going on in J. M. Mora at the moment. EOG has drilled, or is drilling:

Wallace #1H, Leinhart Unit #1H, Henderson Trust Unit #1H, Lauren Alston Unit #1H, Lauren Alston Unit #2H and Kurth Investments Unit #1H (permit).

Sonerra has drilled a couple of verticals, also. Standing Pine & Shooting Star are drilled and Sky Racer is permitted.

J. M. Mora is a busy survey, at the moment.
You are right - it's busier than I realized. Thanks, jffree1
Another new permit approved today for EOG's Kurth Investments Unit well #1H:

Youngbird: Im going to leave your qquestions regarding pipelines and sections/units to people, on GHS, with a far better knowledge than I have on the subjects. Also, below is a link to a discussion that I started regarding choking back large wells. Check your inbox. Thanks. :)

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
