Since there has been little interest in Shelby County for some time, it is best to post in the Shelby County Group, not in Shale Related Topics.  The reason for this is that posting on the main page (Shale Related Topics) only works if a member with Shelby County interests checks the website and sees your post, before it rotates off the page.  If instead, you post to the Shelby County Group page every member of that group gets an email notice of your new discussion.  Even if they haven't been on the website in months.  So, you know what to do, use this link:

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
