Are the EnCana completions new wells or old wells (drilled pre 2013)?  It will be interesting to see how these wells compare to old well and if operators learned anything over the 2-3 year lull in the Haynesville drilling.  In the Eagle Ford, EOG sure has put to use the knowledge it gain from earlier completion methods.

The EnCana wells are some of the first reported completions of Cross Unit Lateral designs.  If they perform a long the lines of EnCana's longer lateral E TX Haynesville Shale wells the IPs will be about the same as standard one section unit lateral LA wells but the EUR will be greater.

Skip - I know there's probably an easy explanation, but tell a novice (me) why there would be a sand that's unkown at this depth?

Ya got me, Smoke.  There are a lot of unnamed sands but "unknown sand" is a new one on me.  Before we jump to any conclusions (this is a 00 - no product specified well), let's wait to see the actual permit uploaded to the state database.  .

Yeah, but it would have been more interesting if it had been a sand we had never heard of instead of the Cotton Valley.  LOL!
