We have recieved a letter that Samson Contour is going to apply for drilling permits in our section. We are not familar with this company. Can anyone tell me if they have a good drilling record? Are they a difficult company to deal with? Has Samson Contour brought in a horizontal well in the Haynesville Shale ? Are they very active in the area? Thanks for all the help.

pilgrim. Samson Contour is a curious company. They have HA unit applications covering 69 sections scattered across the play dating from Sept. 30, 2008. Since that time they have 1 HA vertical completion and 0 horizontal completions. It's late so we may have to continue this some time tomorrow. In the meantime, check out their website: http://www.samson.com/index.html and look them up under "wells by organization" on SONRIS. IMO, it's time to have a discussion about Samson Contour.
Samson has applied for cv, hosston, and haynesville units in 9 sections of 18n,11w. I suspect they will be drilling verticals. HBP with a vertical, what a raw deal in this play.
Thanks Skip- I would appreciate any information/discussion on the company.
Bump
pilgrim. I've pulled together some Samson Contour information to start a new discussion. I will do it a little later this afternoon when I return from an appointment. In the meantime you might want to read a little on SC. http://www.samson.com/index.html

Thanks- we got a call from Samson rep. today with a low offer- We have asked them to send us a copy of the lease to look over and bring to our lawyer, then we will talk about amounts.
pilgrim. I suspect a lot of landowners will be getting calls from Samson Contour in the near future. IMO, you made a wise move to request a copy of the lease and to have your attorney review it. It is best to get that step in negotiations done prior to talking dollars. Good Luck.

I am now moving this conversation to it's own discussion topic on the Main Page. I hope Les B. will join us and repost his list of HA wells.
