Township 16N - 8W joins the Play courtesy of J-W Operating units in Sections 29,32,33. Bienville Parish, Jamestown Field. Unit applications have increased in southern and eastern areas of the Play over the last 30 days.
Thanks, Skip. I noticed that some of the unit applications in 16/9 are by Will-Drill. Have they drilled a single well (either vertical or horizontal) to the Haynesville Shale yet that you are aware of???? If not, maybe they need to change their name to Won't-Drill! Does anyone out there know anything about their ability to drill and operate horizontal Haynesville wells. I know they sold much acreage to Questar a couple years ago in Bienville Parish and Questar is drilling excellent Haynesville wells on the acreage.
SB. Will-Drill has HA units in S31-33, 35 of 16N - 9w, 2,10,12-14 of 15N - 10W, 1,2, 5-10,24,25,35 of 15N -9W, 6,7,29-32 of 15N - 8W, S5 of 14N - 9W and S4/5 of 12N - 16W. They have no HA completions that I am aware of and two vertical HA well permits that have not spudded. "Won't Drill" or "Can't Drill".
Skip, Will-Drill's permit in Section 8 of 15/9 appears to be a horizontal, but is dated 6/8/2009 so they're sure in no hurry!
You have 180 days, and now you can get a permit good for a full year.
Thanks for the information, Mr. Peel... What changes has Township 9N got? It does look as if 8N growing...
Martin. There are four 9N townships, 14-11W depicted on the grid map. That covers 24 miles east to west as the crow files and the circumstances are different in each. Which one in particular are you asking about?
Not Martin but interested in 12 & 13 of 9N
Thanks
Cheryl. in 9N - 12W , SWEPI has HA unit orders for 23 sections. S1,3,6,8-16, 22-27, 31,32,34-36. In 9N - 13W, SWEPI has S35 & 36.
Skip,
You might add that Encana has filed for permits to drill in Sections 3 and 13, even though SWEPI has the unit order. (This JV stuff confuses me!)
Thanks for the additional information, Henry. Yep, Joint Venture relationships can be confusing. And many members would be surprised at the high percentage of JV agreements existing in the HS Play. That's because much of the same lands were already prospective for Hosston and Cotton Valley production. And that was the focus of a majority of the natural gas companies before the HS showed up. There are a number of smaller E&P companies that have very good leasehold but lack the ability, financial and/or technical, to develop the HS. Many will enter into JV agreements with more capable operators. The Encana and SWEPI (Shell Western Exploration and Production, Inc.) JV is pretty easy to understand as they are 50/50 partners. The significant change in their JV agreement is that now Encana seems to be assuming "operator" status in many of the HA Drilling and Production Units established by SWEPI. IMO, that's a good change.
why , no applications for 17n14w
