Wow Parker,

Very interesting that "Sligo Field" is where HK just had hearings posted on DNR........

That's the stuff movies are made of. Risky prospectors find the motherload !
I love it !
Jay,

After I saw you post in another thread, I was curious. Chesapeake purchased from Grey wolf.

Do you think that this work by Grey wolf is where the discovery took place and then Chesapeake developed it?
Parker, my sentimental vote goes to EnCana.
Docket No. 06-807/Order # 1137-E/August 1, 2006/Encana Oil & Gas (USA) Inc. gets my vote.

I remember me and my partners trying to figure out why CHK was buying minerals south of Shreveport in early 08 or late 07 for $9,000/acre. Think we know now.
I'm with ShaleGeo.
Jay, nice connecting of the dots. Thanks. CHK acquired the Rising Star south Caddo leasehold on January 5, 2007.
I guess I'll have to update my History of the Haynesville Shale now. LOL! Did you read my discussion topic, "Good News For Camterra Lessors?" I was hoping the Schlumberger announcement was good news.
I didn't see the log, but running an 8" pipe to the SRLT 29 well told me all I needed to know. Listening to Feist 28 flowing through the seperator confirmed it as did the fact that Williams 22 kicked and blew drilling mud all over the nearby hayfield.
I always like to see some rock and roll. Blow some mud, spew some gas. Then you know you got a well.
Gray,
More old news. And sorry, you can apparently not understand that the Haynesville SHALE was NOT discovered in Jackson Parish.

What is your problem.
I know I will catch some heat for this, but I am going to say it anyway.

GRAY, YOU ARE DILLUSIONAL. You are not in touch with reality.

Yeah, let me get this straight. Anadarko had the huge discovey of the Haynesville shale, and thay sold it. And now, all of the Haynesville Shale activity is nowhere near there. And will never be.

But you post this on a discussion titled "Who Discovered the HS?".
Once again, you have posted off topic and have hi-jacked a discussion. In my opinion, you are a disgrace to this site.

You, my friend, are dillusional, and you have no touch with reality. And i feel sorry for you. I wish you the best.

The History of GoHaynesvilleShale.com

GoHaynesvilleShale.com (GHS) was launched in 2008 during a pivotal moment in the energy industry, when the Haynesville Shale formation—a massive natural gas reserve lying beneath parts of northwest Louisiana, east Texas, and southwest Arkansas—was beginning to attract national attention. The website was the brainchild of Keith Mauck, a landowner and entrepreneur who recognized a pressing need: landowners in the region had little access to…
