On Sonris, what does Code 8, waiting on state potential mean?

Thanks for any info.

The well is completed and is waiting for a flow test required by the state in order to receive an allowable production rate.  The next report will likely be Well Potentialled.   Or a completion report giving the 24 hour production volume for the test, the choke setting for the test and usually a pressure reading.  It could be a few days or a few weeks but the well will likely be reported complete shortly.
thanks for the info.
Linda, where are you and what well are you looking at that is code 8?
Hi Joe, I was looking at Bentley Lumber #242407, I think it is also called the Indigo Bentley.  My land is a pretty long way from there in Rapides Parish, but I am  thinking, maybe I am about half way between this well and some of the wells in avoyelles parish.

Linda,

That's Good. If you see the production figures on that well before I do will you post them? I'm more to the South and East. But anything in the chalk will be interesting to watch. Thanks for the info.

Are you leased or have you had anyone contact you?

No, I am not leased.  I don't think at this point there is any interest in Rapides Parish where my land is.  Are you in Avoyelles Parish?   I have enjoyed reading all of the information about the Austin Chalk and also the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale/Trend.  I will let you know if I see anything on the production figures of the Indigo Bentley.
Linda, Indigo is leasing out on Hwy 28 west. This would be West of WalMart close to Chandlers Chevron.

TD,

Is the Indigo well in Chalk? If it is its a lot shallower there than it is here. Also, it looks like its a vertical hole that was fracked. Is that correct?

Joe I am thinking that it is maybe the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale or Eagleford.

TD,

It almost has to be Chalk. I don't think its TMS or Eagleford. They are below Chalk so they would be deeper. It must be above the shelf and in an area that is very faulted - naturally fractured. Its interesting that it appears to be a vertical well and was fracked. I would believe that it is really a gravel or sand pack than a true frac. That's just my opinion.

Do you know if Indigo is in that area leasing additional acreage?

Joe I was just going by an LSU study done on the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale that uses a well in Vernon Parish in Section 19-T4N-R5W Superior Oil Co. J.A. Bentley #1 that shows the top of the Eagleford at about 10,800 and the base of the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale at about 11,800. Who am I to argue with LSU. My first thought was James Lime for the Indigo well. The Austin Chalk is around 14,000 at Glenmora so something seems to be out of kelter.
Yes, I agree something does not seem right. I was not aware of the study by LSU. I'm trying to put this together from drilling data without logs. And I'm making some assumptions that may or may not be correct. Thanks for your input.
