What next in Pointe Coupee?

Who knows.  All I know is that Basin who is Anadarko agent has leased a lot of Pointe Coupee.  Generally, upper Pointe Coupee above the Spillway and along the River towards the new bridge (the John J Audubon Bridge).  In our case, we are located along the river as it flows toward the east towards St Francisville.  I note in the traffic that much of West Feleciana has been leased and the target seems to be the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale.  Pointe Coupee on the other hand seems to be targeted towards the Austin Chalk.

There seems to be activity all the time regarding Judge Digby Field (Parlange and Wurtell) and that there was a well along Frisco Ridge that targets 13,000 or so feet down.  That is neither Austin Chalk nor Tuscaloosa Trend or Tuscaloosa Marine Shale.  Frisco is not far from Judge Digby Field and is an old oil producing area.  I think it might be the Moncreif formation.

The rig that was on LaCour #43 has moved over into Avoyelles Parish.  The site is along the Atchafalaya river and may extend under the river into Pointe Coupee for all that I know.  And I am sure they are or have completed a Salt Water Disposal well at LaCour #43.  They have to get rid of all that water.

So we wait.  The President seemed to wish for additonal gas drilling in his State of the Union speech.  But then he put the kibosh on the pipeline from the Dakotas/Canada down to the refinery region.  The man does not seem to have a rational energy program, but rather a green program that is going no where fast.

Chesapeake has pulled back its program here in the Barnett Shale.  Dry gas is now a glut on the market and so they chose to slow down and wait.  May see that happen up in the Haynesville area too.

You can bet that oil will take top priority over dry gas (Tuscaloosa Trend will not get much activity except where known good production exists).

As Harry Potter said, "And now we wait."
