In Rapides Parish, La., WJ Energy LLC plans to re-enter an abandoned dual-lateral horizontal test. The #1 BBJB Properties
LLC is in irregular Section 23-1n-2e. Both of the existing laterals—one north-trending and one south-trending—will be re-
entered. The dual-lateral venture was drilled in 1997 when it was originally called #1 Giant Inc 23. The north-trending lateral
was abandoned at 16,903 ft, 14,163 ft true vertical, and the south-trending lateral reached 18,206 ft, 14,710 ft true vertical. The re-entry is targeting pays in Austin Chalk. Successful completions would extend Cheneyville Field to the north. Rapides
Parish’s Cheneyville Field was opened in 1961. WJ Energy is based in Lafayette, La.

Okay, let me see if I can get this straight. WJ Energy was formed in November 2017. This is the well that we have been talking about. Doug has been giving us information on it. The new workover rig must be WJ Energy. Is that correct? Obviously WJ Energy is a front for some other company. I am sure they are not just learning on this well. Isn’t this the same company that has been working on it?
WJ Energy has registered with the state as an operator but has not been issued any well permits at this time. So the above is the first published detail regarding what they intend to do. This re-entering existing well bores is the cheap way to get a look at the LA AC and generate some data. As we have seen, there can be problems taking this route as far as making an economic well. So no one should get too excited about this particular well although the more companies generating data the better. The LA AC is a puzzle to be figured out. And it will take time. This may be one piece of that puzzle.
As always thanks Skip for the info

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
