Good. From my quick search of more recent applications I suspected it was older. Best of luck on a couple of productive new wells. I just wish I could do something about the price per mcf. Small favors are all we can hope for at this point.
I found the application by QEP. It was filed on 3-29-10. The notice must have gone to my mother-in-law and she didn't tell my wife. (I knew I never saw the notice.)
The "Hearings" portion of the SONRIS is working fine for me however a quick search by Field Name did not produce any applications for these wells. Since they are alternate unit wells, not cross unit laterals, they could have been approved years ago by QEP (Questar). You can look for them but at this point there is little use to do so other than to address your curiosity.
Thanks again. I am almost certain that we never received any notice letters about these alternate wells. When SONRIS is back up, I will check to see when these orders were entered.
You're welcome. Notice is required for alternate well spacing but not for a permit to drill. Once an operator has the field order authorizing the additional wells in a unit, it is good indefinitely as long as the wells match the approved lateral slots. So it could have been months or even years back that the alternate wells were approved during the process where notice letters were sent out. It is not enough to wait on a letter. Interested parties do not receive them when a drilling permit is taken out. All mineral owners in areas under development need to check periodically for well permits in the O&G database, SONRIS.
Skip, Thanks for the info. We are in 2-15-10. Shouldn't we have gotten notice of the application for these alternate unit wells? Tom
Is there any new activity in Alabama Bend Field? Especially, sec. 2-15-10?
We have received offers to purchase royalty on producing acreage in Alabama Bend Field. Is anyone aware of any new activity in the area?
Anything new in the area going on?
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
