We own property in S10, T15N,R14W. I have heard that Chesapeake has shut in all the wells it bought this year from Camterra because there were some issues with the gathering lines. Does anyone know anything about this?

Are there folks or livestock in those areas?

Thanks for the info Mack.........If I remember correctly, my cousin's well (Sec 1) had a leak right after it was completed.  It took Camterra about a year to get it repaired, and start producing.   Sure hope it doesn't take that long to fix this time.

Linda, who is responsible for fixing the leak/leaks?

Will all those people have to move out like the leak in south Shreveport? Are all the leaks contained within DeSoto?

My guess is Chesapeake will be responsible.  And, I guess it all depends on how bad the leak is as to whether or not folks have to move out.....  As far as I know nobody in Sec 1 has been asked to evacuate their property, so it must not be too bad.  ....  I do know that the volume of production on my cousin's well has been really low, so that might have something to do with it. .....   Only guessing at this point!

Mack I will add a couple of more sections to your shut-in list. We received a shut-in notice from CHK on the 21st, that's section 26-16n-14w. I believe section 27-16n-14w also received their notices. Sounds to broad to be a pipeline problem to me, but what do I know.

Mack,

Please add Section 33-16N-14W.

Is there any pattern that emerges from this or is the only commonality Camterra as original operator?

 Thank you-

I'm not sure CypressKnees, but I think it only has to do with Camterra wells.  Will let you know if I find out otherwise.

I very seriously doubt that the wells are shut-in due to a pipeline leak, however it could be a pipeline issue. Who's the midstream pipeline company? Could they be at odds with CHK?

Who would we go to in order to ask that terribly good question, FXEF?

Thank you for your excellent suggestion.

Should a person call CHK?

FXEF,

My cousin's house is located close to the Camterra well in Sec 1 T15 R14.  He said there was an awful smell coming from that area a few days ago.   Could that be a leak?

Linda,

I don't know what kind of odor your cousin was smelling. It's possible it could be coming from a pipeline leak, but probably not.

He said it smelled something like "rotten eggs"
