DeSoto Sec 2-T15N-R14W - Camterra has 2 wells plugged, now CHK has drilled - anyone have info?

In Aug. 2006 I signed a 3 yr lease with Empresa Energy.  Two yrs later Camterra (I assume Camterra bought lease from Empresa) drills well #238542 which ends up plugged and abandoned.  They then drill #240950 which is plugged and abandoned effective 10/15/2010.  I can't find my copy of the lease but wouldn't the lease have expired due to lack of production?

Now I see that Chesapeake has drilled well #242347, which as of 3/14/2011 was waiting on frac.  Does anyone have any info regarding activity in this section? How can I find out if I'm bound to a lease?

Pam you  need to go to the courthouse and get a copy  of your lease then maybe someone can help you

Thanks buckmaster.

Thanks Jay. How would Chesapeake become the lessee?
Pam the well your referring to serial#242347 was spud 11-16-10. so if you had the standard 3 year lease with a 2 year option your lease is still held. thats  why  you need a copy of your lease . Did you recieve a lease ext.with a ck. after the primary term was up.
No, I haven't received anything from CHK.  I guess I need to plan a trip to Mansfield!

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
