HOUSTON, Aug. 5 – Devon Energy Corp., Oklahoma City, said it has substantially derisked 74,000 of its 110,000 net acres in the Haynesville shale gas play in the greater Carthage, Tex., area and has identified about 800 drilling locations on the acreage.

The company estimated a resource of more than 3 tcf of gas equivalent on the 74,000 acres.

Devon is drilling a well in San Augustine County to evaluate its acreage in the southern part of the Haynesville play.

Goodrich Petroleum completed the Taylor Sealey GU Well No. 3H to 16,242 feet 3.5 miles southwest of Fairplay. On a 24/64-inch choke the well potentialed 9.229 million cubic feet of gas in the Haynesville.

The J.T. Ross Unit Well No. 1HS has been completed by Chevron U.S.A. in the North Carthage. Located 4.8 miles east of Beckville the well hit 15,505 feet. On a 20/64-inch choke the well potentialed 5.633 million cubic feet of gas in the Bossier Shale.

HOUSTON, July 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Goodrich Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: GDP) today announced results on four additional Haynesville Shale wells.

The Company has completed its third East Texas horizontal Haynesville Shale well, its Taylor Sealey No. 3H in Panola County, Texas. The well produced into sales at a 24 hour initial production rate of 9.3 MMcf per day on a 24/64 inch choke with 5,200 psi. The Company is operator and owns a 100% working interest in the well. The well is located in the Minden field, approximately six miles south of its recently announced Lutheran Church 5H well, which had an initial production rate of 9.0 MMcf per day. The Company has reached total depth on two additional horizontal Haynesville Shale wells in East Texas, its T. Swiley No. 4H in the Minden field and Beard Taylor No. 1H in the Beckville field.

Samson Lone Star completed the Minnie Bell Gas Unit Well No. 3H in the Waskom Field to 15,885 feet four miles east of Elysian Fields. On a 22/64-inch choke the well potentialed 8.897 million cubic feet of gas in the Haynesville.

Penn Virginia Oil & Gas completed the James Madison Furrh Gas Unit Well No. 2H to 15,416 feet 3.7 miles northwest of DeBerry in the North Carthage Field. On a 30/64-inch choke the well potentialed 9.632 million cubic feet of gas in the Bossier Shale.

"XTO Energy completed the Midyett-Gulley Well No. 12H to 17,920 feet 3.7 miles southeast of DeBerry in the North Carthage Field. The well potentialed 5.405 million cubic feet of gas on an 18/64-inch choke in the Bossier Shale."

HOUSTON, June 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Goodrich Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: GDP) today announced results on its second operated horizontal Haynesville Shale well.



The Company has completed its second operated horizontal Haynesville Shale well in East Texas, the Lutheran Church 5HR, which tested at an initial production rate of 9.0 MMcf per day on a 26/64 inch choke with 4,375 psi. The well, which was completed with approximately 3,100 feet of lateral length and ten stages, is located in the Company's Beckville/Minden area of Panola County, Texas. Goodrich is operator and owns a 100% working interest in the well.

I live in small town North Louisiana. Have interest in jw Biggs survey in Panola County. Anyone know if there is any haynesville shale activity in the area? Many Thanks.

East Texans. I've been waiting 8 months for royalties from Devon's Summers no.1 well. Texas law provides for interests and penalties on all royalties not paid within 120 days but the recipient has to send in a letter requesting them. Send in a letter with your divion order.
