Does anyone know if there has been any interest by the gas companies for drilling around the Dubberly, LA area?

Yes. There are some recent Cotton Valley wells. If it is Haynesville Shale drilling activity that you are interested in, there is none presently in your township. Petrohawk has HS drilling units in Sections 33 and 34 of the township to your immediate west. There are two wells in Township 18 North, Range 9W to HS depths both are producing from the CV formation but the wells appear to be drilled sufficiently deep to test the Haynesville formation. Is it sand or shale? Samson Contour and Nelson Energy have well logs that probably answer that question. Samson Contour completed a well in Section 33 on January 27, 2007 and Nelson Energy in Section 23 on June 4, 2008.
Thanks Skip, I would ad petrohawk has a unit in s13 17n 9w. If Sylvia lives in the area this would be south of central school toward Heflin between mims store road and la531. Which is pretty close to Dubberly.
Thanks, Catfish. Sylvia is a little off the map currently. Petrohawk being a capable operator, the prospective nature of the Dubberly area may determined before the year is out. HK's unit is about four miles southeast as the crow flies from the Samson Contour well that I mention and Petrohawk has a least one HA well in a Samson HA unit in another part of the play that I am aware of. Has HK permitted a well in S13 - 17N - 9W yet?
Skip, no they have not but I expect them to. Acadiana leasing has an office in downtown Minden for almost a year quietly leasing land for PHK in17N. Not wanting to spread false hopes but it appears this part of Webster is in their target zone.
It was great to see Dubberly appear in this discussion group. After decades of gas production our tiny home town and decades of gas production has been overshadowed by the shale excitement. I live out of the area now and its been difficult to follow the action (or lack of it). Thanks to all who provided current information. Now I'll be able to dig out the maps and track any progress. With so much valuable infrastructure and existing production in place we continue to hope that our area will get its share of attention.
Does anyone know if the leasing activity has restarted in Section 29?
