Petrohawk as unitized sec 18 T17N-R10W which is the location for the BEUSA #1 Harold Montgomery, does anyone know if Petrohawk has bought out BEUSA or are they working togather? HA RA SU 61
Received letters from Merritt Oil and Gas out of Brookhaven, Ms.. They are interested in buying undivided 1/2 interest in minerals in Township 17 North Range 10 West. Includes an interst in Sections 14, 11 and other sections. Has anyone else heard from them? Do not know the price.
I went by this well this weekend and the well is drilling SN 240540, Also went by the BEUSA well in section 18, 17N-10W and they are setting up the rig. SN 240643.
Earlene Before renewing any Lease with Petrohawk... Go to the 'Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission' Website Home Page and download the Ark. Leasing Manual. It's 39 pages. It has all the common leasing clauses for land and mineral leases. It starts at page 25 and goes to page 39. These are standard leasing Clauses. Demand that all these Common Leasing Clauses to be in your Lease. With these clauses the land owner and mineral owners will be happy. Without these common clauses it is a guarantee there will be unhappiness somewhere in your lease. There will be alot of stuff in small writing that will be added to your lease. Well injection is a big no no. They'll use that well as a waste dump. Arkansas is stopping this practice. One well per wellpad location. Any more wells has to be renegotiated. Wellpad Location and Access Road Location to be specified and agreed to by you. Wells and roads are to be placed at a ' Reasonable Location" - that is the law. The oil and gas companies are required to do this and it can't be just because it's good for the gas company. Of all companies - Petrohawk will hold you to your leases. Cary
Cary. Earlene has more knowledge of LA. mineral statutes and the dynamics of the play than you realize. I assure you she requires no assistance from someone that thinks the AR. mineral statues have anything to do with LA.
Skip,
Thank you! Coming from you, I take it as a compliment. But I will tell you it has been a strain on my poor ol brain cells to remember all of this. You are absolutely correct in that Arkansas is completely different than Louisiana. I believe that this information from AR will/can confuse the Louisiana Shalers, especially since we are posting on the Webster Parish, Louisiana group. I personally look to the other shales for information and happenings, but having a working knowledge of Louisiana first helps to not confuse. The last thing we want to do is get Louisiana laws/regs confused with AR.

Cary,
Your first mistake was thinking I even had property to lease in Webster Parish, Louisiana. I post over here to help out friends that I had made in this parish. I genuinely think that you are trying to help out the shalers. BUT I also believe that your posting of AR laws is confusing Louisiana laws. I haven't read the manual as you haven't given a link, so I can't even say that there are some good parts to consider. Our Louisiana laws make a difference on what lease clauses we need here in Louisiana. I have to add that I am so glad that I am a Louisiana Girl with it comes to force pooling laws.

Earlene is about to go shoe shopping :-D
GoshDarn,
It is crazy here in the tip of Bienville. We are great and stress relieved. I have always used the analogy that if you wanted donuts delivered to you everyday that you are being drilled to put that in your lease. Boy I sure am enjoying those donuts now. After the fight I went through to get those donuts tho is why I was concerned, it sure wasn't a cake walk. How's it going in your neck of the woods?

Earlene, I believe this well is now drilling:

Nabors #M47 Rig, Petrohawk, Taliaferro 28 #H1 Well, Serial #240540, S33(28)-T17N-R10W
Les,
Is that the same rig that was on Madden 6 in sec 7 16N 9W? Just wondering if they were keeping the same rig to float around? I know HK has several locations in Lake Bistineau Field to get drilled. I guess I could go look in your Drilling group. lol
Thanks,
Earlene
Earlene,
I will check that on Monday when I can access the historical information. Unfortunately the Drilling Rig Locations Group doesn't retain the past information.

Most rigs stay with the same operator but may be moved between adjacent parishes. Some new rigs are still being added so I am interested to see how high the count reaches in North Louisiana.
Earlene,
The Madden well was drilled by the Nabors #M46 Rig - so you were close. The last 3 wells drilled by the #M47 Rig were all in the Red River-Bull Bayou Field in Red River Parish.
TALIAFERRO anyone know where that rig moved?
