There has been some seismic testing going
on just to the north of hwy 80 and between 79 north over to the Claiborne parish line. This
is in what is called the Minden Field. Many
old gas & oil wells are located there already,
with much of that land already under lease
for many years now. Also location of one of
the old solt domes.

This is the second round of testing, as the
first was done in May.

Do know of one family that lives on 531,
north of hwy 80 and south of 79 that signed a lease for a nice amount. Have not heard what
company they signed with.

Hello everyone, I just found this site and it seems to be very informative. I have land with my dad in township 19 north, range 8 west, section 31, which lies between I-20 and hwy 80 and between 531 and 532. I was wondering if anyone knew of any companies interested in this area and does anyone have any experience with how much the lease bonus is per acre here?? Thanks for your time.

Hello everybody,
There seems to be a little more activity in our area then the big boys want you to know! Some have contacted companies and have been rejected, yet there are landmen in area who say they are representing companies that aren't leasing in our area. These cats are Pro's,DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE!!!!!!
If you call 1(800)YOU KNOW ME and are told your land isn't valuable, you are then more likely to accept a lower offer. This is a tactic taught in many car sales classes. The less you have to pay on the trade vehicle the more you make on the deal.As soon as you drive into lot ,dude starts pointing out scratches, tires need replaceing, windshields got a crack in it(may have happened while you were looking at the new vehicle).ha! ha! Just kidding about the windshield thing Mr. Car Salesman dude.
It is kind of like the disappearing watch routine(slight of hand)except the only thing disappearing is your bonus money and royalty %.

Snake,
These companies sound like they are only looking out for themselves (salaries). Why would anyone want to pay membership and %'s of anything to an outside party? Boys and girls, can you say "fishy"? hee hee

Myoilpro and haynesvilleshalelandowners.com seem to be real similar in structure even tho they come at you from two different directions.
Could Be As Follows!
1) pay membership (for executive board salaries)
2)shut up and let me do all the talking(to my oil buddies)
3)pay me a % of your signing bonus
4)pay me a % of your royalties for as long as gas can be
sucked out of your ground.
5)never question whether or not I was up front about
how much your signing bonus was

Tech75,
I've seen a roadside sign for "myoilpro" going toward Dorcheat from Doyline. Not willing to contact them, though.

I'm in Township 19 Section 25, 1 mile north of I-20, and also heard or read that HK isn't leasing anymore above 19N20 although they leased the land adjacent to ours to the south. Bummer. Everyone says "wait and see. If a company is interested they will contact you." However, I read that "MyOilPro" was seeking leases around Dixie Inn which seems odd. He listed Dixie Inn, Doyline and Sibley as the only towns of interest in Webster Parish. That's a pretty good stretch. I saw where XTO was buying Hunt and some other company. I would have thought they would be leasing here since they already have a presence.

Heard today of two families in Doyline that received offers of $1,000 per acrea/25% and also 4,000 per acrea/25%.

Snake, I live in Webster, my mineral rights are at Koran, see my post in the forum for details. Doyline is very close to Koran, and could be sitting on a gold mine!!

I have heard that CHSPK is interested in buying PetroHawk.PTHK busy in Webster so CHSPK backed off to keep from bidding against themselves.I think some of Northern offers were pulled to allow time for offers to cool in fringe areas.I feel that Minden will be in play due to Cabot O&G numbers but it is still early.People as far north as Sarepta have offers from some of other companies.CHSPK and PTHK aren't the only players in this game.Inform yourselves and others. The more everyone knows the better off we all will be.
